This week I got feedback on my first draft of my resume. It was very helpful to get another person’s perspective on what I had written so I can ensure that my resume is clear and easy to understand. I also received the resume of my classmates which was beneficial to me as I could see useful details they included that I later implemented into my own draft.
Additionally, this week I continued to research my topic. I realized that I had focused too quickly on a particular topic, so for my third research assessment, I decided to take a step back and look more broadly at the field of psychology as a whole.
Particularly, the education and experience required to be successful in this field. While I had a general idea of these requirements, I was surprised to find I never research in depth into this. I still stayed focused on what I generally wanted to study, the mental health of students, but I expanded my search and researched mental health issues commonly faced by students along with current solutions that attempt to reduce these problems. I intend to tie this back to motivation by exploring to what extent compromised mental health impacts a person’s motivation.
This following week I will have to finalize my topic before I begin creating my original work. With the research I did this week, I now have a better understanding of the larger problem I want to address through my research: the psychological challenges that students face.
