This week was the first week back from our winter break. Compared to previous weeks, this one was slower than most. However, there are many things to be looking forward to this semester.
The first thing I need to prepare for is the final presentation night where I will be presenting everything that I have learned and worked on in this class. The most daunting aspect of this presentation for me now is the 30 minute speech that I will be giving. While I feel more confident in my knowledge about my area of research that I did at the start of the course, I have not given a presentation of this scale before, so it feels quite daunting. However, I do anticipate having a lot to talk about especially since I also need to create my final product this semester.
The final product is another project I need to keep in mind for the near future. I planned to create a research-heavy academic paper to further explore the concepts that I started researching for my original work. However, as I was thinking about what I need to do as the academic year comes to an end, I realized my initial plan may have been too ambitious. Given how I have final exams, the presentation night, and college to prepare for, I have thought of less intensive final products that I could make.
One such option was doing a psychological analysis of characters in a show or movie and writing a paper explaining those psychological processes and possible treatment paths. This will allow me to explore the psychological concepts I want to research while also being a more casual rather than academic paper that is focused less on the theory and more on application. This would also make my work more accessible to people who are not as deeply knowledgeable about psychology as I can use familiar characters as an entry point to explain otherwise complex psychological disorders.
I have a lot that is coming up in my final semester of ISM and high school. By preparing and planning ahead I hope to fill these last few months with memorable and beneficial experiences.
